Economic Hardtimes and the Holidays

What's important over the years has changed so much.... In light of these economic hard times I have reflected on the holidays of past years. I spent days sometimes weeks running around trying to buy the perfect gift for everyone. We cooked huge meals that were consumed in 30 minutes time. Caught up in the consumerism and traditions of the holidays we seem to lose sight of what is important - being with family. The older I get I realize that each year seems to fly by faster than the year before. This year I could care less if one gift is given, I just want to be able to spend time with my lovely family and let them know how much I love them.
